posting now

that i am home in the less hipster-y neighborhood of chevy chase dc. unlike parker i did nothing of importance today, except complete my first solo long distance drive. i made one stop about 20 minutes in on the nj turnpike due to that iced coffee, though. then again to wait in line for gas, because you can't fill your own tank in jersey. then i made chocolate chip cookies while watching finding forrester, which is about an aspiring 16 year old writer from the bronx named jamal. after being in spain (a country with absolutely no diversity) for five months, i seriously enjoyed following jamal's adventures alongside sir thomas sean connery.

speaking of new york again, when parker and i entered the city on sunday we drove south from the gw bridge and witnessed many stereotypical harlemesque scenes. basketball, everyone sitting on the front stoop, and a mcdonalds, radio shack, and foot locker all next to each other. like those in williamsburg, they have stylin' kicks. our favorite but more unrelated sighting was a store sign that read: 59 cent, 79 cent, and 99 cent x-press. below the word x-press we noted that it said "everything 99 cents or more." picture to be sent to failblog soon.
